Legislative News

TWCA routinely works with legislators and agency staff on statewide water policy issues. Our goal is to act as a resource and to help facilitate complex solutions among stakeholders. Each session, we actively track legislation related to surface water, groundwater, government entities and water districts, open records and open meetings, and other relevant subjects that are of interest to our members.

We provide a legislative news service to subscribers that provides analysis of bills of significant interest to TWCA members, regular tracking and reporting on the status of those bills as they move through the legislative process, notice of committee hearings on significant bills. Subscribers are updated with regular tracking reports via email, and can always get the latest information by logging on to our webpage. In addition, TWCA water district members who subscribe to the Legislative News may also be eligible for a significant discount from TELICON, the Texas Legislative Service's extensive online database for the Texas Legislature.
